Daughter Valerie bakes every Christmas, and this holiday cake is fun and easy to create!

Many of us know exactly what we like, and our choices have resulted in a warm, lovely home. But when it comes to decorating for the Holidays, why go from shop to shop for pillows, stockings and garland when Elizabeth has pulled it all together for you? Sit back, relax, and read on.  From here you can learn which products and colors to deck your halls, and truly make your home a place of comfort and joy.

Q: "Which colors?"

A: Choose either  the same primary color your room has, or for more contrast, it's complementary color. If your room is primarily white, hang the white Christmas stockings, with one in sage or burgundy. Add white pillows to the couch and a green tree skirt, to blend with the natural evergreen color, and make the tree look taller.   Or, choose another other color, hunter green for example, and hang the Green Ribbon Lattice stocking and two Embossed Velvet stockings in green, and another in burgundy. Decorate with the green pillows and a green tree skirt, and finish off with the "White Christmas" mantle garland.  If you decorate for Christmas with reds and greens, then continue with this with our burgundy and hunter green accessories. And if you have a lot of golds in your holiday decor, gold stockings are a perfect choice.

Q: Should I hang Christmas stockings with the names embroidered?

By far a very common question , as we have recently introduced our personalized Christmas stockings. Keep in mind that when Christmas stockings are monogrammed the eye goes to the name first. A mantle, stairway or shelf lined with stockings for "Mom," "Dad," "Mitchell," and "Valerie"  conveys a warm, endearing, traditional look and children love it. Using Christmas stockings without names embroidered on conjures a lovely, elegant and special Christmas feeling, and our personalized charms sparkle with the family names. Either way, our Christmas stockings are a pleasing, beautiful way to enhance your Holiday home.

Q: "I already have a lot of reds in my holiday decorating. Will adding burgundy work?"

A: Absolutely. If you've already hung the red stockings, add some burgundy pillows to the couch and a burgundy tree skirt. Pull your room together with a burgundy table runner on the coffee table, topped with a "White Christmas" candle centerpiece topped with our red cranberry candles. Also, greens will work well. Choose the Green Embossed velvet stockings, tree skirt and pillows. Adding greens to your decor will also enhance the star of the room, your beautiful Christmas tree, by making it look taller.

Q: "I have a contemporary living room. Which products will suit the look?"

A: Again, depending on the primary color scheme, choose the main color. If it is primarily white, choose only white Christmas stockings, smooth velvet white pillows with tassels and one Pinwheel design white pillow. With contemporary styles, the smooth velvets work very well with minimal embellishments.

Q: "I have a traditional decorated home but want to dress it up more for the holidays. What will work?"

A: Mix and match the stockings in any colors you'd like, and add our decoratively trimmed pillows - in complementary colors. A green tree skirt would look very elegant, as would a burgundy. Our door swags and mantle garland would add a lovely finishing touch, or use a wreath instead of a hanging picture if you're without a fireplace.

Q: "Can I use the pillows and runners after the holidays?"

A: "Yes! Especially if you have a more Victorian decor. Use the table runner on Valentine's Day, and keep the pillows out to enjoy all year long, if you wish.

Q: "My home and Christmas accessories are just a mix of what I like, and every room has a different color theme."

A: By all means, stick with what's in your heart and choose what you like. We have selected colors and tones that blend together very well, making sure the sage on top of the frosted plums match the sage of the velvet stockings. A mix of stockings, accenting pillows and Christmas garland from Elizabethan Christmas will add elegance and beauty to your Holiday home, and no one knows better than you what makes your house a home.

Q: "What are some quick, easy and decorative ideas to embellish my Christmas dinner or party?"

A: Here are some of Elizabeth's favorites: "For a beautiful dinner table, sprinkle a burgundy table runner with plenty of gold glitter. The shimmer will add a magical sparkle when the candles light up, and stir up an air of holiday whimsy."

"To glitz up the serving table or sideboard, fill dessert bowls with small glass balls, and pop in a sprig of glass beads, gilded holly or real greens near the side. Use an assortment of cake plates to serve the appetizers, crudite and cookies, and securely hang small glass balls from the edges."

"My favorite dessert: a vanilla cake frosted with plenty of fresh  whipped cream. Spoon the whipped cream into thick, snowy drifts, then top with a snowman or Santa ornament, bristle Christmas trees and little candy canes. Finally, lightly shake on blue sugar crystals. The children love it!"

"Collect a selection of vintage or antique tree toppers and display them securely on silver or gilded candle holders. Wrap a small wreath of fresh greens at the base and display them on the mantle or behind the coffee and sweets."
